Supporting their latest album Walls, The Kings of Leon have extended their massive world tour to include fall dates in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. The 16-date fall tour will follow the band’s massive summer tour, which wraps up at the end of August.
The fall leg of the tour will kick off in Charlotte, NC on September 27 and wrap up on October 28 in Tampa, FL. The band will make stops in Nashville, Los Angeles, St. Paul, Jacksonville and West Palm Beach. A few dates are planned for Canada, too, including stops in Vancouver, Winnipeg, Edmonton and Calgary.
The Kings of Leon will also perform at the Hollywood Bowl on October 7.
The band’s second tour run, which wraps up at the end of August, will include Nathaniel Rateliff, folk songwriter, as the opening act.
The fall leg of the tour will feature Dawes as the opening act, a SoCal folk band. Other special guests are expected to make appearances, with announcements expected in the future.
The band’s setlist includes fan favorites and tracks from the new album, including: “Notion,” “WALLS,” “Fans,” “Conversation Piece,” “Family Tree,” “Sex on Fire,” “On Call,” and “California Waiting.”
The band’s setlist changes with each show, so fans should expect different experiences at each stop.
Based in Nashville, Kings of Leon was formed in 1999. The band is comprised of brothers Nathan, Jared and Caleb Followill; and their cousin Matthew Followill.
The band’s early music was a blend of blues and Southern rock, but later evolved into arena and alternative rock.
The Kings of Leon first achieved commercial success in the UK, releasing nine Top 40 songs and winning two BRIT awards in 2008. That same year, the band achieved mainstream success in the U.S. with the singles “Sex on Fire,” “Notion,” and “Use Somebody.” All three singles hit number one on the Hot Modern Rock Tracks chart.
The Kings of Leon have released seven studio albums, including: Youth & Young Manhood,Because of the Times, Aha Shake Heartbreak, Come Around Sundown, Only by the Night,Mechanical Bull and WALLS.
Throughout their career, the Kings of Leon have won four Grammy Awards.
The band released its seventh studio album WALLS in October 2016, with the first single “Waste a Moment” released the month prior. The album was the band’s first to reach number one on the Billboard 200 chart. WALLS sold 77,000 copies in its first week.
