John Clayton Mayer has been active since 1998 and is an American guitarist, producer and singer-songwriter. Mayer, born in Connecticut, started his career as an acoustic rock artist before moving into blues.
Mayer’s vibrant music and talent led him to work with some of the biggest names in blues, including Eric Clapton, B.B. King and Buddy Guy. The three released the Try! album in 2005. Mayer released his third studio album shortly after titled Continuum.
Mayer’s first two albums were a success, titled Rooms for Squares and Heavier Things. He went on to be nominated for Best New Artist at the 2003 Grammy Awards and won Best Male Pop Vocal Performance during the same year.
“Daughters” led him to win Song of the Year in 2005 along with the Best Male Pop Vocal Performance award. His Continuum album won Best Pop Vocal Album in 2007.
Mayer’s The Search for Everything album was released in 2017, marking his first album release since 2013 when he released Paradise Valley. The Search for Everything is Mayer’s seventh studio album released on April 14, 2017.
“Love on the Weekend” was the album’s first single, which was released on November 17, 2016 followed by “Still Feel Like Your Man” released in February 2017 and “In the Blood,” which was released in May 2017.
The Search for Everything Tour was announced in January and is an arena tour headlined by Mayer. The North American tour had 30 shows added within a month of the tour’s announcement thanks to the overwhelming support from fans.
The tour run from March 31, 2017 through October 31, 2017 with four legs. The tour features 48 shows in North America, 8 shows in Europe and 7 shows in South America, with 63 shows in total.

Opening acts for the tour include The Record Company, LANY, The Night Game and Dawes.
The Search for Everything has twelve tracks in total, with the album receiving mostly positive reviews from critics. The album debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 with 120.000 album sales. All of the tracks on the album were written by Mayer.
The album also features an array of singers, including Al and Matt Jardine lending their vocals to the “Emoji of a Wave” track, Sheryl Crow lending her vocals on the “In the Blood” track, and Tiffany Palmer featured on the “Helpless” track.
The album reached the #1 spot on the US Top Rock Albums chart, #2 on the Canadian Albumsand US Billboard 200 spots. The album also reached the top 10 charts in Australia, Sweden, Denmark and the Netherlands.
