Wayback Pointfest is back this fall after a back-to-back weekend stint this summer. The event, hosted by the St. Louis station 105.7, will be held at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheater on September 10.
The festival’s line-up includes Sublime with Rome, The Urge, The Offspring and Reel Big Fish.
The radio station will host the WayBack Pointfest Eve event on September 9 with Local H and The Toadies at Delmar Hall.
Sublime with Rome is a collaboration between former Sublime band member Eric Wilson and guitarist/singer Rome Ramirez.
Formed in 2009, the band – which originally included former Sublime member Bud Gaugh – played under the “Sublime” name until 2009. In 2010, they changed their name to Sublime with Rome after the estate of Bradley Nowell, deceased founder of Sublime, issued a legal challenge.
Sublime with Rome began touring in 2010 and released their debut album in July 2011. Gaughleft the band that same year and was replaced by Josh Feese. The trio released their third album Sirens in 2015.
The band’s first and second albums peaked at number 3 on the US Rock chart. The 2011 single “Panic” peaked at number 4 on the US Alt chart.
American punk band The Offspring formed in 1984 and has been credited with helping revive mainstream interest in punk rock music.
The Offspring has produced the hits “You’re Gonna Go Far, Kid,” “Pretty Fly,” “Self Esteem,” “Why Don’t You Get a Job?” and “Want You Bad.”
The band has sold more than 40 million records worldwide, and has been called one of the best-selling rock bands of all time in the punk genre.
The Urge is an alternative rock band based in St. Louis, MO. Their style includes a fusion of heavy metal, hardcore punk, rhythm and blues, rock, reggae and funk.
The Urge has been active on and off since 1987, but their known for their high energy performances.
Their latest album, Receiving The Gift of Flavor – 20th Anniversary, was released in 2015 and celebrates the 20th anniversary of their 1995 album that spawned the hit “All Washed Up.”
Ska punk band Reel Big Fish formed in 1991 in Huntington Beach, CA. The band is best known for their hit single “Sell Out.”
Reel Big Fish achieved mainstream success in the late 90s with their album Turn the Radio Off.
The band released their latest studio album, Candy Coated Fury, in 2012.
